Overview
Culture
This section covers some of the known cultural quirks that are attributed to the Xaltean. This is not an exhaustive list but a general overview for those wanting to get a sense of their social expectations.
Xaltean Modesty System
The Xaltean modesty system is built upon the principles of communal trust and respect. Each House has its own standards that are expected but when it comes to interacting with the other houses and the populace, it depends on the situation. The standard rules figured out so far are:
- If it's an unfamiliar place and/or with unfamiliar people, you wear what is appropriate for your house and the weather.
- If you are in a familiar area and are comfortable, going topless or wearing very little is acceptable. It can also be seen as a sign of trust especially among a senior to a junior.
- If you are in your primary home and trust the people, you are with the zizuut is enough. Xalteans only uncover their private regions as a sign of the sheerest of respect and trust as it is considered the center of pleasure and a gift of the goddess to be shared with only those who are trusted.
This does NOT apply in the same way among the [Bonding System|bonded]]. With a bonded servant they will follow the same rules except any clothing requirements or lack thereof set by the lord or contract holder supersedes this. Culturally though, it is considered poor manners to expect a servant to dress in a way that is uncomfortable to them but on the other side of that coin, being clothed/unclothed the way the estate lord prefers is a sign of respect and trust.
